Walkers have long known about Huggate – the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail passes by the village. Presided over by St Mary’s church, its 14th-century tower and spire is difficult to miss, this Wolds village is around nine miles to the west of Driffield.

Central to the historic village of Bishop Burton is a pond, known as The Mere, where the listed war memorial, which is built on a peninsula, reflects evocatively in the water
In a field to the east of the village, which is about three miles west of Beverley, is one of the medieval stone boundary markers for the sanctuary of Saint John of Beverley that is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument
Galegate Mews, North Newbald - 59 mins drive from Rosewood Cottage
Newbald (Anglo Saxon for new building) is the archetypal English village, with its large green surrounded by pretty stone houses and two pubs.
The village, less than four miles from Market Weighton, is home to the fine Norman church of St Nicholas and a beck runs in front of the houses in Eastgate, which each have their own private bridge crossing.
